For well over 45 years, Central Island Healthcare has been Long Island’s leader in rehabilitation.
Centrally located in Plainview, many patients come to Central Island Healthcare for short term rehabilitation after they have been in the hospital. They may have had a stroke, surgery, heart attack, or an accident. Our specialized subacute care unit boasts a high nurse to patient ratio.
We have developed Rehabilitation and Clinical Protocols based on input from various orthopedic surgeons in order to guide our staff in caring for our patients towards complete recovery. We know patients are anxious to return home, and we do everything possible to accelerate recovery.
Central Island Healthcare offers therapy services to our patients, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. Our therapy services coordinate to allow patients to return to their original level of activity. We also provide personalized treatment plans developed by our interdisciplinary team of doctors, therapists, nurses, dietitians, social workers, and case managers.
