It gives me great pleasure to write this as the newly-elected President of the Syosset Chamber of Commerce, and I'd like to thank all of those who've put their trust in me to lead such a fine organization. I'd also like to thank our Immediate Past President, Michael A. Biggiani, for the hard work and leadership he provided the board and membership these past two years. I look forward to continuing our great working relationship.
With the new year comes new projects and events, adding to our list of already great events like the Street Festival, Golf Outing, Holiday Lighting Spectacular, and our Gala Dinner Dance. In addition to these fun-filled events, we'rehoping to introduce several firsts, so keep an eye out for our Syosset Restaurant Night, Movies Under the Stars and, as the year moves along, Syosset's first "Turkey Trot. "
Additionally, this year will bring other items of interest for the membership and this great community, and we'll be looking to you for some input. This year will mark the first publication of the Syosset Community Cook Book, which will be comprised of various member and resident-provided recipes. The book be available for sale at various locations throughout the town, with a portion of the proceeds being donated to various charities and to the new Syosset Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Fund.
I'd like to congratulate and welcome the Chamber's newly elected and returning officers and board members. I look forward to working with all of you and will do my best to help you enhance our organization. And let's not forget our most valued asset: our membership. During this year we'll be working on various items that will benefit our members. Some items currently being discussed are a Health Insurance Program, New Member Program, Chamber Discount Cards, and a "Syosset Bucks" Program that should bring more customers to your door during the "Shop Syosset Days." And that's just a small taste of what to expect.
In order to implement these new programs and benefits, and continue the existing events, we need your help and support! Please join our team at the Syosset Chamber of Commerce for what will be a fantastic year.
Thanks again, and don't sweat the small stuff. Life is too short.
Sincerely, Kevin
