Dear Members:
The first quarter of 2010 has been very successful for the Syosset Chamber of Commerce.
Our annual Installation Dinner brought together past presidents, local dignitaries, Chamber members and their guests for the installation of this year’s officers. This was followed by membership meetings and networking opportunities that featured motivating guest speakers such as Christian Doria of Send Out Cards, who provided tips for building repeat and referral business, and Kiki Orso of DISC, who demonstrated how her company’s personality assessment program can help build more productive working relationships. Each speaker provided valuable information and advice that Chamber members could apply to their day-to-day businesses. I’d like to thank the dedicated Chamber committee members who worked so hard to make these events run smoothly.
The first quarter has also brought many exciting new enhancements to our web site, www.syossetchamber.com. The site has transformed into the prime portal for communicating important Chamber happenings, but also serves as an information source for the entire Syosset community. Chamber members can utilize ad space to promote their businesses, while site visitors can find out what’s going on in and around Syosset, learn about the history of business in our downtown area, and so much more. I hope you will visit our website regularly to see what’s new, and that you take full advantage of all the site has to offer your business.
The second quarter promises to deliver even more excitement. We have lined up several events, including a Business-to-Business Networking Event with Raymond C. Radigan of U.S. Trust,a Wine Tasting Networking Party at The Wine Cellar, and another informative membership meeting with guest speaker, Rob Fishman of Sandler Training, who will speak on the topic of “How to Sell Effectively in Today’s Business Climate.” See the Upcoming Events listing at the bottom of our home page for full details - and be sure to save the dates!
